Chace joined the staff at Connect Church in June of 2019. He and Brooke have been married since 2008. They have three children: Karsyn, Kai and Holland.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Boaz, Alabama and was raised in a small town called Aroney, Alabama. I graduated from Crossville in 2002.
How did you become a Christian?
If I were to ever write an autobiography (and could get the rights from Rascal Flatts), it would be called ‘God Blessed the Broken Road’. I was raised in church my entire life; however, I never understood what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. At the age of 15, I fell into the chains of addiction. I struggled with that addiction for 8 years until I was introduced to a place called the Narrowgate Foundation, a Christian discipleship program in the mountains of Tennessee. Through six months of uninterrupted, self-examination, I was able to realize my true need in life… Jesus. It was also there that I realized my calling to be pastor, and I have been joyfully serving the Lord since.
What do you do for free time?
Most of my free time these days is spent taxiing kids to sporting events. Both of my older children enjoy basketball, baseball/softball, football, karate and being on the swim team. I enjoy hanging out with my family, watching them play sports, and getting a chance to play golf and deer hunt on occasion.
What’s your favorite movie?
I love all the Avengers and Star Wars movies, the Matrix, MIB and Secondhand Lions.
What’s the craziest job you’ve ever had?
I was a vampire for a few years! At the hospital, they actually call them phlebotomists.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
What is your favorite Connect Church memory?
So far, it has been passing out popcorn and cokes during the ‘At the Movies’ series. Also, getting to explain to my 7 year old that following Jesus is just like Spider-man taking “a leap of faith”.
