Where did you grow up?
I was born in Gadsden, Alabama, and grew up in Boaz, Alabama.
How did you become a Christian?
I was raised in a Christian home, and have attended church my entire life. I learned about Christ from a very early age, and knew a lot about Him. What He did on the cross became very real to me and I realized there was more to it than just knowing about Him. When I was 8 years old, I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. As a teenager, I felt God leading me into ministry. I have been serving in children and youth ministry since then!
What do you do for free time?
I love to be with my family! I also enjoy cooking, decorating, crafting, planning special events, and being on the lake.
What’s your favorite movie?
It’s hard to pick a favorite – I love movies! I like “feel good movies” – you know, the ones that everyone is happy at the end. Sappy chick flicks and comedies are my favorites. Not a fan of suspense or horror movies!
What’s the craziest job you’ve ever had?
My resume consists of jobs in ministry, teaching in public education, and event planning…I could tell some crazy stories of things that have happened in all of those jobs!!
Favorite Bible verse?
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
What brought you to Connect Church?
I love children and I love ministry! I am a teacher at heart, and to see the light bulb come on in a child’s mind and a heart change – specifically when they learn about Jesus, how to live for Him, and how to share Him with others – is what I’m passionate about! I’m excited that the Lord brought my family to Connect Church to serve in a church that shares our same desire and passion for others to know Him.
What’s on your playlist?
Kari Jobe, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Matt Maher, David Crowder, Hillsong United, Christy Nockels, Francesca Batistelli…just to name a few.
