Letter to Parents

December 7, 2022

Dear Parents,

We hope that this letter finds you well. We will be having our “special snack” Christmas parties on Friday, December 16, 2022. Your child’s classroom teacher will be posting signup sheets for parents to bring different items. Please pay close attention to the request for “Mini” cupcakes or cookies. We hate for your hard earned money to go to waste and we end up with so much party food that full size cupcakes are often untouched. I know they look and sound great, but it is almost as if they overwhelm the children. For most of you, this will be a normal Friday/workday, but you are welcome to come and assist with the party. I will post a time schedule within the next day or so.

We sent out and posted our school year calendar at the beginning of the year, but I want to remind you here of our closed dates. Due to holidays falling on weekends, and the chaos of opening two days then closing three for two weeks in a row last year (as a result of holidays falling on weekends), we opted to remain open through 12/22/22. We will be closed on 12/23/22 and we will not reopen the following week so staff may celebrate the holidays with their families and loved ones. We will reopen on Monday, January 2, 2023.

Lastly, after much thought, concern, manipulating numbers, discussions with other local childcare centers and prayer, it is necessary for us to increase tuition beginning the week of January 2, 2023. The increased tuition rates are on the attached page, but basically the increase is $5/week for all children.  We were sure to make staffing adjustments where we were able and to cut any unnecessary spending, however, the same increased food, gas, supply costs we are all seeing in our personal lives are also affecting us here. Please, if this puts financial hardship on your family and you feel you will be unable to pay, talk to me. We do accept the CMA Daycare Subsidy and you may qualify for assistance. The other increase is the annual registration will increase to $140 each year (typically collected in May). Again, this is not something we came to lightly or with ease, but it is necessary at this time and we apologize for any additional hardship it may cause. My door is always open should you have a need that I may be able to assist with.

We hope you are nearing complete preparedness for the upcoming holidays and wish your families nothing but happiness and love as we celebrate the Father’s greatest gift in bringing us His Son Jesus!

Merry Christmas to all! ~ Ms. Kylie
